The Bad Buddhist Radio podcast is the voice of Ryu Cope, a follower of the middle way since 1993. With a harsh tone that would be frowned upon by any "Buddha of infinite love and compassion", The Bad Buddha shouts to the world in a voice that denies the placid, pacifying drone of most Buddhist speakers even as it preaches the sensible teachings of the infinitely practical Buddha.
Outside of the podcast, Ryu teaches graphic design and desktop publishing at a nearby college. He has all sorts of other creative-type jobs like roleplaying game designer, artist, author, and actor (check out Gameheads). In what little spare time he leaves himself, Ryu enjoys working out, practicing Serrada Escrima, learning Tae Kwon Do, playing video games (City of Heroes, WOOT!) and roleplaying games, and helping his wife, Gwen, with her independent film studio -- Inflatable Turtle Productions.
Currently, Ryu lives in West-Central Illinois (near St. Louis, MO) with his wife, four cats, two dogs and an aquarium full of fish.
More about Ryu Cope, as well as some of his other projects, can be found at his personal website ryucope.com. Whatever you do, don't take him too seriously. He's more of an entertainer than any religous leader that any sane person should look up to!
